Oversee the total Athletics operation and have the ability to fill in when necessary in any position and maintain a cohesive operation at all times
Must be able to be the liaison between members, employees and club management. It is important that the Director interact with the members and employees to promote service excellence at all times.
To aid in implementation of the club membership laws and club management standards as they apply to this operation
Be a role model and promote positive workplace values for department staff and maintain a professional atmosphere at all times
Attend club meetings and facilitate monthly and quarterly department meetings for athletics staff and trainers
Maintains courtesy and diplomacy with guests, employees and vendors
Controls costs and meets budgetary objectives

1. Excellent verbal, written communication skills and proficiency with computer
2. Have a personality to which people gravitate. Be enthusiastic, energetic, personable and friendly.
3. Demonstrate continued interest in your field. Be passionate, ambitious, driven, intelligent and knowledgeable regarding the fitness industry.

10. Identify areas where in which training is needed and develops staff

Job Requirements:
1. Five-year minimum management experience supervising employees in athletics/fitness manager position
2. Club/Hotel/Resort/Spa experience from similar quality and size property
3. College education
4. Computer skills, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Jonas(PMS)
5. Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, or bend for duration of shift and lift equipment
Safety/Certifications/Knowledge:
1. Certification Requirements: CPR/AED Certified
2. Be able to demonstrate competency in the face of common injuries (knees/shoulder/back)
Prior personal trainer experience
3. In depth knowledge of massage/life guarding
4. Familiar with National Training Certification
5. Familiar with Certification of NASM, ACE (or similar reputation.)
6. Knowledge of retail products and services offered in the Pro shop
